EV Summer Bootcamp 2026 – Empowering Future Engineers
The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully organized a One-Week Summer Bootcamp on Electric Vehicles (EVs) from 7th July to 13th July 2026, providing an exciting platform for young science students to explore the rapidly evolving world of sustainable mobility.
The bootcamp witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 30 students from various +2 Science institutions across Odisha, all eager to gain first-hand exposure to Electric Vehicle technology. The program was thoughtfully designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry-oriented practical knowledge.
Throughout the week, participants attended interactive theory sessions and intensive hands-on laboratory training conducted by the experienced faculty members of the department. The training covered the fundamentals of Electric Vehicles, battery technologies, electric motors, power electronics, vehicle systems, safety practices, and emerging trends in green transportation. Practical demonstrations and laboratory experiments enabled the students to understand the working principles of EV systems in an engaging and experiential manner.
Beyond technical learning, the department ensured a comfortable and memorable residential experience through excellent accommodation, hospitality, and continuous mentoring. The participants appreciated the friendly learning environment, the dedication of the faculty, and the well-planned organization of the program.
A major highlight of the bootcamp was the educational visit on the concluding day, during which students explored the institute’s state-of-the-art laboratories, the Polyhouse, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Solar Power Plant, and Drone Demonstration Facility. These visits showcased innovative technologies and sustainable engineering practices, inspiring the participants to appreciate the diverse applications of engineering in solving real-world challenges.
The overwhelming enthusiasm, active participation, and positive feedback received from the students made the bootcamp a resounding success. The program reflects the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s commitment to promoting experiential learning, technological innovation, and skill development among aspiring engineers.
