TGI believes in working in groups for enhanced productivity and effective interdisciplinary resource utilization – both man and machine. With this philosophy, Trident Research has formed different research groups to take up research problems in their collective domain of study. Working in groups promotes cooperative learning that involves having students and faculty member work together to maximize their own and one another’s learning. Different functional research groups under Trident Research are formed as a conglomeration of different academic departments of TGI. The active research groups that promote and encourage various multi-disciplinary and inter- disciplinary research activities are:

Computer Sciences Research (CSR) Group

With a mission to profile the career of computer science graduate of TAT into committed and dedicated computer professionals, the Computer Science Research (CSR) Group was formed as a conglomeration of following three streams of interrelated departments offering study programs: B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering, B.Tech. in Information Technology, M.Tech. in Comuter Science & Engineeg and Master in Computer Application MCA).

  • Department of Computer Science & Engineering
  • Department of Information Technology
  • Department of Master in Computer Applications

The key objective of the CSR Group is to produce competent computer professionals with a strong sense of social responsibility as a citizen of the country; it is our continual effort to groom the graduates with high ethical and morale value – capable enough to address various social issues and challenges through focused research and innovation. On a regular basis, we put our effort to encourage and motivate our young budding engineers and professionals to believe in continuous learning which will put them in pace with the upcoming technologies and contemporary developments in their fields of study so that their skill of application of acquired knowledge will make them stand as outstanding performers in whatever the situation calls for, irrespective of whatsoever careers they choose.

CSR Group at TAT under Trident Research has been conducting research in up-coming areas of technology to address current social as well as industrial issues and challenges with the help of research grant supports through intramural funding (TIFR Scheme), extramural funding (GoI Funding Agencies) and consultancy supports.

Electrical Sciences Research (ESR) Group

As an assembly of core branches of technical studies falling under the branch of electrical sciences to disseminate professional knowledge among the budding engineers in the society for nation building, the Electrical Sciences Research (ESR) Group was framed as a conglomeration of the related branches:

  • Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
  • Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Department of Electrical Engineering

These three departments focus their academic delivery targeted towards grooming of technical workforce fortified with sound knowledge, build-up with deep understanding of fundamental principles, practical visualization through experienced guidance, practical exposure through reinforced hands-on lab and real-world application oriented sessions and with dependable managerial skill to offer dependable research and reliable consultancy support services. With a team of enthusiastic faculty members available in these three departments deliver their sincere and dedicated service with an honest attempt to groom committed technical manpower with sound domain knowledge competent to deliver required R&D service to the nation.

Science & Humanities Research (SHR) Group

The prime objective of the Department of Science and Humanities at TAT is to provide the students with deep insights into basic sciences and lays a solid foundation among the engineering students during their first year of study. TAT is popular for its professional teaching, focused action and strategic direction in imparting goal oriented academic delivery. In general, TAT provides ample opportunities to hone the students’ creative skill by involving them in activities and boost their self-image, people skills and attitude through PD sessions, and enhance their communication skills and public speaking abilities through debate and GD sessions. The Science and Humanities Research (SHR) Group at TAT formed with a core objective of conducting and promoting industrial and societal research and consultancy services to the community and nation. SHR Group comprises of the following departments:

• Department of Mathematics
• Department of English
• Department of Physics
• Department of Chemistry
• Department of Economics
• Department of Management Studies

All the departments are adequately staffed with sincere and dedicated faculty members with specialization in their respective field of study, competent enough to enrich the students’ understanding by imparting them strong conceptual clarity in both theory and practical. Most of the senior faculty members hold PhD degree and other faculty members are in active pursuance of their PhD degree from different reputed universities. All the science Labs are well equipped with up-to-date state-of-the-art equipment and apparatus to do all the experiments as per the syllabus of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology. The Department of English is equipped with modern Language Lab with state-of-the-art software and hardware facilities to help students immensely in learning English, gain expertise and proficiency in English language communication skill. SHR Group is sound both in terms of its faculty and facilities to conduct and promote research and consultancy services. The SHR Group supplements the academic curricular gap incurred, if any, in the regular classroom delivery, through coordinated action by organizing periodic guest lectures with the help of eminent faculties and industry experts. Salubrious study climate and systematic work environment is a direct reflection of the good infrastructural facilities and a well focused administrative framework.

Conducive ambience at TAT promotes research motivation to make the dream of Trident Research come true. The SHR Group of Trident Research is committed to build-up a strong foundation for the first year students in the basic science and engineering fundamental concepts
